Leaving in early November, 2012, Clifton Angel, Tim Burroughs and I flew from Memphis International Airport for the long journey to the countries of Malaysia and Singapore. After short layovers in Minneapolis and Tokyo and overnighting in a hotel in the Singapore Airport, we finally reached out destination in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The first night in Kuala Lumpur we met in the home of Charlie Chan. Charlie opens his home for Bible studies one night a week (thanks Charlie!). There was a large group gathered and I was privileged to deliver a Bible discussion on "Lessons From The Walls Of Jericho." The following evenings, Clifton spoke at the Kota
Kemuning congregation,Tim Burroughs spoke at the Subang Jaya congregation and I spoke at the Klang congregation. We then took the short flight back to Singapore, arriving in time to attend and take part in the Four Seas Bible College graduation. What a joy it was to see several from various countries in the Far East receive their diplomas - knowing they are returning to their home countries to spread the Gospel of Christ. A few days later, we all participated in the Annual Four Seas Bible College Lectureship. This year theme was "The God Of The Bible." We enjoyed the good speeches and the warm hospitality of the many who gathered at the Jurong church of Christ in Singapore. In addition to the Lectureship, there were nightly Gospel Meetings at the Lim Ah Pin and Jurong congregations. Four Seas Bible College is doing a tremendous job in training men and women in the Word of God. We are glad to be a part of this good work. After the various speaking engagements, we back tracked in our flight homeward. It is always a blessing to visit with our brethren and friends in the Far East. We are thankful to God for the opportunities and His blessings in our mission efforts. |
